World Earth Day 2024

The Earth Day on April 22 serves as the annual theme for a wide variety of initiatives covering the broad spectrum of environmental and climate protection, encouraging everyone to launch and sustain their personal environmental agenda.

Several years ago, we began asking ourselves how Brandcraft could improve our industry and set new standards. Unfortunately, it’s often not as easy as we initially thought. High quality standards for products, materials, and manufacturing processes frequently stood in our way. However, after extensive research and regular discussions with sustainability experts, we have steadily moved closer to our goal.

Here's an example: When manufacturing our bags and accessories, we generally try (unless the customer requests vegan materials) to use high-quality upcycled leather that originally came from automotive production (including premium models from BMW and Rolls-Royce).

We see the following advantages in the use of upcycled leather for our products:

• Conservation of Resources: By upcycling leather from the automotive industry, we reduce the need for new materials, conserve valuable resources, and minimize waste.

• Emissions Reduction: Upcycling leather significantly reduces the carbon footprint associated with leather production, thereby helping to combat climate change and air pollution.

• Circular Economy: Upcycling promotes a circular economy in which materials are reused and repurposed, thereby fostering sustainable practices and minimizing waste generation.

• Quality and Durability: When high-quality leather is upcycled, the material’s quality and durability are preserved, ensuring that the products made from it maintain their high standards while also being environmentally friendly.

• Innovation and Creativity: The process of upcycling fosters innovation and creativity and results in unique and stylish products that appeal to environmentally conscious consumers.
